Bulletin for Monday, January 15th
Office/ Guidance:
- Students remember to schedule your classes for next year. The Infinite Campus portal closes Friday, January 26th. Return your completed course selections to the Guidance Office
- Seniors: GRCC and Michigan Works are offering an introductory construction "jump start" class - FULL TUITION PAID! The class begins June 4th. Seniors interested please attend an informational meeting on Thursday, January 18th during PRIDE time in the Media Center for an application. Sign up in the guidance office to attend
- WUS Welcoming Schools needs volunteers for our Early Childhood Nights on Tues, Feb. 20 at Dorr Elementary and Wed. Feb 21 at Baker Elementary from 5:30pm to 7pm. RSVP Laurie Z at [email protected] by Feb. 16. Include your email, phone number and days you can help.
Media Center:
- The Media Center is hosting a STEM Extravaganza! Tuesdays during lunch for the month of January! Come down to the Media Center to race robots!
Fine Arts & Clubs:
- Interested in learning how to play the ukulele? Join Ukulele club! Cost is only 8$. Club starts Feb 15. Sign up by Feb 1st.
- GSA will be having a guest speaker from GR Pride at our meeting after school on Tuesday January 16 in Mr. Kniaz's room
- The next Snow Bus will travel to Bittersweet after school on Friday the 19th. Bring 5$ to Mrs Mulder by Wednesday in the Athletic Office to pay for the bus ride by Wednesday or the rate goes up to 7$.
- improv.anonymous will be performing Thursday, January 25th at Simply Celia's. Show begins at 6pm, food available to purchase.
- Come see the Cabaret Wednesday Jan 17th. 6Pm. Its Free
- Odyssey of the Mind is hosting a tournament at Wayland on Saturday, February 17 and they need lots of volunteers to help direct participants in the right direction around the high school. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Mr. Wissner at [email protected] to get signed up! This is a great opportunity for serviced hours hint hint
Sports news
- All girls who are interested in joining the Girls Track and Field team, or would just like to get some excellent physical conditioning for spring sports, join us in the "old Cafeteria" on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:45 to 3:45 pm. See you there!
- Kayd Hulst is the Fan of the Week! He received his pizza lunch combo on Friday! To be entered into the Fan of the Week drawing bring your passport to all home athletics events and make sure to get stamped! Five stamps that include one red stamp for the game of the week makes you eligible for a free Little Ceasers lunch. Bring your completed passports to Mrs. Cardosa to be entered into the drawing!

- Girls Varsity Basketball BEAT TK
- Boys Varsity Basketball BEAT TK 60-31. Players of the Game: Travis Cutler, Ternor Hudson, George Yanakiev
- Boys Varsity Swimming finished in 8th place at D3 Meet @ Hudsonville
- Boys Varsity Bowling WON the Lowell Invite with a balanced team effort
- The Girls Bowling team won the Lowell Invitational on Saturday. Sydney Urben and Marissa BruinSlot placed 1st and 2nd as individuals. Marissa Bruinslot had high game for the tournament with a 235. The team also broke the school record with a 244 baker game and a 425 baker game score.
- Boys Varsity Wrestling Finished in 10th place @ the West Ottawa Invite
- Girls Varsity Competitive Cheer finished 4th @ the Wyoming Invite
- Boys Varsity Hockey LOST to West Ottawa
